John Fillenworth
Kansas City, Missouri - After a long-fought battle with illness, John Fillenworth, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021  at the age of 72 in Kansas City, MO with his family at his side.  John is survived by his wife Jacklyn of Kansas City, MO; his daughter, Daphne Means (Fillenworth) of Lee's Summit, MO; his sister, Jeanne (Steve) Paulson of Jacksonville, AR; his grand CHILDREN,  Braydon and Jasmine Means of Lee's Summit, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Marion, IA, on January 12, 1949 to Earl and Glatha Fillenworth, John was a lifelong musician who learned to master the drums at a very young age. Throughout his young adulthood he traveled across the country with a variety of show bands,  playing popular cover songs at venues that included the elite Playboy Club circuit in the early 70's. While his musical tastes were diverse, his love and passion was for rhythmic music with soulful beats. John transitioned to a successful career as an inside salesman and sales manager, where he was known for his hard work, dedication and high level of integrity. John was an avid sports fan and history buff, who loved to attend Chiefs games, concerts, museums and his grandson's football and basketball games. He taught us all to be humble, work hard, love each other and enjoy life.'

John was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at a young age, and fought many medical battles throughout his life as a result. Organ transplants, however, prolonged it by over 30 years, allowing him to travel with his wife, watch his daughter grow, give his life to Christ and witness the birth of his only grandson.
